The ONE X2 from Insta360 is a 360° action camera with dual- and single-lens modes. In dual-lens mode, also called 360 Cam Mode, the camera uses both its front and rear lenses to capture immersive 360 5.7K resolution video with automatic internal stitching, and then using the companion iOS/Android app, you can navigate through the shot and select a specific angle and share it directly to social media. Since the camera captures in all directions, you'll never miss a shot again. Its dual-lens design also unlocks creative effects like the Invisible Selfie Stick, where the stick is automatically stitched out of the final footage for impossible aerial angles.

Single-lens mode, also called Steady Cam mode, turns this 360 camera into a standard camera that you can capture regular shots with. In both modes, FlowState Stabilization, with an advanced scene-detection algorithm, digitally smooths out your shot, so it looks more steady. The ONE X2 is designed 33' waterproof as is, without any waterproof housing required, so you can take it underwater with you as well as use it in the rain. The camera also features a round touchscreen on the front for framing and monitoring your shots. For capturing audio, the ONE X2 is designed with four onboard mics with wind reduction to capture clean 360 audio, and it also supports an optional dedicated 3.5mm mic adapter for connecting an external mic for more professional audio.

Other features include voice control, one-tap cinematic edits via the mobile app, recording, control from an optional Apple Watch, recording audio directly to optional AirPods, and much more.

  2. Which Android phones are compatible with ONE X2?
ONE X2 is compatible with Android mobile devices that meet the following capabilities, including:

Android devices with Kirin 980 and above chips, including Huawei Mate 20, P30 or newer models.
Android devices with Snapdragon 845 and above chips, including Samsung Galaxy S9, Xiaomi Mi 8 or newer models.
Android devices with Exynos 9810 and above chips, including Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+, Note9 and newer models.

    Note:
Devices that do not meet the above requirements can possibly still use the app to control ONE X2, however, performance of some processor-intensive and AI-powered features may be sub-optimal.
After testing, phones equipped with Qualcomm SDM765 5G chips have poor hardware decoding capabilities and are not supported for use, such as OPPO Reno 3 5G; some Nubia/RedMagic phones are not compatible, such as RedMagic 3 and Z20.
The installation of the app requires a mobile phone with a 64-bit system, a 32-bit system does not support the installation of the app.
  3. Which external microphones are compatible with ONE X2?
    RODE Wireless GO
RODE Wireless GO II (Only supports Merged mode)
    RODE VideoMicro
    RODE VideoMic Pro
    XFAN D1

    BOYA-M1Pro
    SONY UWP-D21
    Apple AirPods & AirPods Pro
  4. If my device does not meet the basic performance requirements of ONE X2, is it impossible to use ONE X2?
The camera must first be activated through the mobile app. After the camera activated, you can still control ONE X2 and shoot using the ONE X2 touch screen if your phone does not meet the performance requirements. If your phone is unable to support the Insta360 app for editing, you can still use the Insta360 Studio desktop software for editing.
  5. Can ONE X2 be charged while shooting? If so, what are the required input voltage and current?
ONE X2 supports charging while shooting; the required input voltage and current is 5V 2A. However, if it is used in a relatively high-temperature environment, such as outdoor direct sunlight, please pay attention to the temperature of the camera body and avoid crashes.
  6. What kind of Micro SD cards does ONE X2 support?
To consistently achieve the best results with your ONE X2, you should use UHS-I Micro SD cards with a V30 or above speed class and exFAT format, or the shooting may stop and the footage may be damaged by the unmatched storage cards.
Note: UHS-II and UHS-III Micro SD/TF cards are not compatible with ONE X2.
  7. Is ONE X2 Waterproof?
Yes, ONE X2 is waterproof to 10 meters (33ft). Please pay attention to the following points to ensure your camera remains waterproof:

Before use, make sure that the USB lock cover, battery lock cover, and the battery’s rubber seal are intact and functioning properly. If there are any issues or you are unsure please contact Insta360 Support. Note: Strong vibrations, shock, or pressure to the camera may compromise the waterproofing performance.
When using in or around water, dirt or sand, make sure to properly close the battery lock cover and USB lock cover (the yellow indication marks should not be visible and you should hear a clicking sound when they are closed correctly).
When using ONE X2 in water, please lock the touch screen to avoid accidental button presses. After locking the touch screen, you can use the Power / Function Button to change modes.
Always ensure that the battery lock cover and USB lock cover are free from any foreign objects before closing. If necessary, clean with a soft, dust-free cloth.
  8. What should I do if the video I shot is blurry?
If the video recorded by the camera is blurry, you can refer to the following methods to solve it:
Make sure that the lenses on both sides of the camera are not dirty; please try recording again after wiping the lenses with a microfiber cloth.
  9. What should I do if there is a lot of noise in my image?
Due to the size of the sensor, noise may increase in low light conditions. It is recommended to reduce the ISO as much as possible for this. In addition, when exporting the video, please check "Remove grain".
  10. What can I do if the video I shot has bad audio?
Please refer to the following steps to verify the issue:

    Using an external microphone

    Please confirm whether the external microphone is in the compatibility list;
    If it is not in the compatibility list, it is recommended to turn on wind noise reduction and make sure that the firmware is the latest version before trying again. If the video still has bad audio, it may be caused by the compatibility;
If it is in the compatibility list, please make sure to enable wind noise reduction and ensure that the firmware is the latest version.
